Goldilocks Effect

Runway ran their first AI film contest, GEN48, to create a short film made in AI using at least 80% of Runway tools and produced in 48 hours. Runway gave you options from three categories, a character, a place and an object.

I chose an alien, an abandoned swimming pool and an old photo.

The story I created was about Humans looking for new worlds to live on and created Biodomes to live in.
These would be built, homes and swimming pools built and slowly became abandoned as they began to fail. With the water in the pools and no human interaction new alien life forms started to form and develop. The film is about the research teams that have gone out to discover and catalogue the new alien life forms.

From over 1,000+ applicants, 800+ AI films entered and from this 20 finalists were selected.
My film was chosen as one of the finalists
